Last night was the premier of Drew Barrymore's directorial debut with the movie Whip-It. It's about roller derby!!! I've already seen it twice (thank you sneak peaks!). It's a good coming of age, finding yurself story set in the world of roller derby. Everyone who's seen it loves it - especially derby girls!! I've actually skated against at least 3 (probbly more) girls who have skating parts in the movie. Jackie Daniels who actully skates for Grand Raggity (Grand Rappids, MI) is one of my favorites and we get to see and play against her next month. "Princess Slaya" is played by Racer McChaser from Detroit - get to see her later today when we go play Dayton (she's playing in the game after ours).
I can't wait to t scrapbook my tickets and stuff fom the movie!!!

Today I travel to Akron to play oller derby against the NEO (North East Ohio) Rockin' Roller Girls. Our B tea, Gang Green, will be plaing them. This will be our first game since the Ohio State Fair and my first game sincegetting hit in the eye at the fair. Good luck to all.

Back To School

This "Back To School" page will be offered at the Cord Camera Clintonville Location on September 20th. I hope to offer it at the Hilliard location in October.
Another fun, interactive page. It features die-cuts, ribbon, stamping, embossing, and yes... Stickles!!! I promise you I try to complete a page without it but I like shiny, sparkly things!!! This page is perfect for kindergarten through elementary school. With a few modifications it could also be used for upper grades.

Thanks to the ladies who took this class today. I thought I would only run over the time by a little bit, so thanks for your patience. This was a fun page to create. It was my first time making pockets for pictures. Not as much Stickles as the last class but we did get to play with lots of ribbon and different picture sizes for scrapbooking. I like to show new and/or different ways to use your photos. Think of different ways to see your pictures. Try squares. Try panaramics. Pick one area of yur picture and fcus on that: a close up a face or hand, a patern like an animals fur or skin texture. Take pictures of details in addition to the whole picture. Try a 2x2 6-up picture size that focuses on the details. See what you can do with 2x2s and 3x3s either cute seperately or grouped together. Try 6x8s and 4x12s. Use a photo as you would a peice of patterned paper on your page. Experiment and tell me about it!!!

Patriotic Pages

These were my first class pages. The bottom layout I also used on a 9x9 Halloweeny layout,I just converted it to a larger scale for the 12x12. I also did not use any journaling on these pages. Sometimes i feel that the page doesn't need anything, that the photos should tell the story. This is the page that made me fall in love with stickles. When creating the page, I wanted fireworks on it but the fireworks QuickKutz was sold out and I didn't see the really cool fireworks stamp n this one large collection of clear stamps so i had to set about making my own. I used a star outline stamp, pop-dotteda star frmt he QuickKutz Star Icon diecut in the center of the stamped star, put a sparkly gem in the middle of the popped star and then surounded it all with stickles to give the illusion of an outward explosion.

Is less really more?

Is less really more? Not to me! To me, More is More!!! :) Pages with all that empty space just seem lacking to me. I tried for it last nigh and ended up Liquid Pearl(ing) squiggles in all the empty space.... much better now! I love making pages that and a ... "visual delight" - lots of things to look at. I have also discovered that i like interactive pages; pockets, moving things, etc.

My favorite Thing

My (current) favorite scrapbook item is Stickles!!! I ::heart:: Stickles very much!!! It seems that I cannot complete a page without putting at least a little on each page. It makes me happy.
What make you happy when you put it on a page?

The Beginning

So, Terri at the Hilliard store suggested I start a blog to show off my scrapbooking. Good idea. Can't really post this stuff to Facebook - my friends aren't interested. So, this will be my place to show it all off. See what I'm currently working on: current classes, upcoming classes, ideas, works in progress, and some of my own stuff.
